Seniority scenario for the 68 − 72 Zn and 66 − 68 Ni B ( E 2 ) ↑ difference

چکیده
In the seniority scheme the reduced B(E2: 0 + 1 → 2 + 1) (B(E2)↑) transition probability of even-even nuclei can be related to the product of the number of particles by the number of holes of the valence space. This very simple expression is used to analyze at the same time the experimental B(E2)↑ values of 56−68 Ni and those of 62−72 Zn. The evolution of these B(E2)↑ values with neutron number fits in with a scenario involving p-n interaction.

Direct Lifetime Measurements of the Excited States in (72)Ni.
The lifetimes of the first excited 2^{+} and 4^{+} states in ^{72}Ni were measured at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory with the recoil-distance Doppler-shift method, a model-independent probe to obtain the reduced transition probability. Excited states in ^{72}Ni were populated by the one-proton knockout reaction of an intermediate energy ^{73}Cu beam. γ-ray-recoil coincidences...
متن کاملExtraction of certain heavy metals from sewage sludge using different types of acids
The removal of heavy metal from sludge before disposal or application to farmland is a necessary step to achieve a more safe sludge usage or disposal. Chemical extraction using inorganic acids (nitric, hydrochloric) and organic acids (citric, oxalic) were tested for extraction of chromium, copper, nickel, lead and zinc from contaminated sewage sludge at different pH and reaction time. Results r...

متن کاملSpatial Patterns of Heavy Metal Contamination by Urbanization.
Spatial analysis of heavy metals (HMs) is an important step toward developing predictive models of urban HM contamination. This study assessed the spatial distribution of the enrichment of eight HMs (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, and Zn) in the city of Ghent, Belgium. A database with soil HM concentrations measured at 2194 point observations was collected from the Public Waste Agency of Flanders....
متن کاملChromatographic Zinc Isotope Separation by Chelating Exchange Resin
Zinc isotope separations were studied by displacement chromatography using the chelating properties of malate, citrate and lactate exchange resin and EDTA as ligands. After each chromatographic operation, the heavier zinc isotopes were found to preferentially fractionated into the carboxylate complex solution phase. The separation coefficients (epsilon) for zinc isotope separation had the large...
